In order to conduct your research I will need as much
information as you already know about your family. The more information
you can supply, the less research time will be required and the cheaper it
is for you. It would be helpful if as much of the following information
could be supplied as possible for at least your parents and grandparents
(and further back if known). It is not usually a problem if some
information is missing.
If you do have any
original documentation please send copies of them. It is often quicker
and easier to
analyze these than to study handwritten transcriptions. Please see
my privacy policy also.
Correspondence
Wherever possible
correspondence will be by email. Email offers speed and convenience as
well as being cheaper than post. In some instances for example when
the client is not based in the UK, this is much the fastest, cheapest and
most secure option. I have a range of software to enable me to send
attachments.
Original documents such
as Certificates and Wills are too important to be send by normal
post. These will be sent by recorded delivery and the postage will be
charged at cost. For all other documents, such as photocopies,
please state if you require the original document to be sent to you
(postage at cost), otherwise a scanned digital image will be sent by
email.
